Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care across a variety of healthcare settings. The RN assesses patient needs, develops and implements nursing care plans, administers medications and treatments, coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams, and educates patients and families to promote optimal health outcomes.

This role requires strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to manage complex patient conditions in fast-paced environments while maintaining compliance with regulatory, ethical, and professional nursing standards.

Job Responsibilities

Clinical Care & Patient Management

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans

  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments per physician orders

  • Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes, and intervene appropriately

  • Perform wound care, catheter care, and other nursing procedures

  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and dignity at all times

Documentation & Compliance

  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EHR systems

  • Ensure compliance with state nursing regulations, facility policies, and accreditation standards

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality

  • Support quality improvement initiatives and patient safety programs

Care Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with physicians, LPNs, CNAs, and allied health professionals

  • Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care plans and education

  • Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning

Leadership & Professional Practice

  • Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise support staff

  • Serve as a patient advocate and uphold ethical nursing standards

  • Participate in training, continuing education, and competency programs

Skills + Experience


  • Active RN license in practicing state

  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills

  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

  • BLS required; ACLS, PALS, or specialty certifications preferred
